How to Choose the Right Boiler?

Whether you’re looking to replace a broken boiler or perhaps the energy efficiency of your current boiler isn’t up to par, there are options available to meet the needs of your property that our experts can help you to choose;

Combi Boilers
Combi Boilers
A combination or ‘combi’ boiler is both a high efficiency water heater and a central heating boiler in a single compact unit.
  • Perfect for smaller homes
  • No need for hot water cylinder
  • No risk of lift pipework freezing
  • Less pipework makes installations cheaper
System Boilers
System Boilers
System boilers require a cylinder for storing hot water, however the major heating and hot water system components are built into the boiler itself, making it quicker and easier to install.
  • Ideal for homes with more than one bathroom
  • Constant supply of hot water to any number of taps at the same time
  • Economical to run
Regular Boilers
Regular Boilers
Regular boilers (sometimes known as traditional, conventional or heat only boilers) are ideally suited to homes that already have a traditional heating and hot water system which is linked to a separate hot water cylinder.
  • Perfect for homes where a lot of hot water is used at the same time
  • Ideal where there are two or more bathrooms
  • A good option for homes that have low water pressure

Efficient New Boiler Installations to Help Save You Money

Most homeowners don’t consider installing a new boiler until their existing one breaks down. So, is it worth the hassle and expense?

You will be surprised how much a new boiler can reduce your regular heating bills; in some cases up to 30% per year. Some older boiler models have a fuel-to-heat efficiency as low as 60%, while new boilers can be as high as 90%. That difference can help to save you money and also help the environment.

FAQs for Boiler Installation and Servicing

How do air-to-air heat pumps differ from traditional systems?

Traditional heating systems rely on either heating water with a gas boiler and circulating it through radiators, or burning natural fuels in a fireplace or stove. Air-to-air pumps use solely electrical energy to heat the air.  Additional differences between traditional heating systems and air-to-air pumps are:

  • Location – air-to-air heat pumps are installed outside your property rather than inside like a traditional boiler.
  • Energy-efficiency – they use less energy to achieve the room temperature you desire.
  • Environmental factors – you get 4-5 times more heat per kilowatt (KW) with an air-to-air pump, making them far more environmentally friendly.
  • Durability – they can last up to double the expected lifespan of a traditional boiler, if well maintained and serviced.

What are air-to-air heat pumps?

Air-to-air heat pumps use latent energy taken from air temperature to heat or cool your room using modern heat pump technology. You’ll set a thermostat and the wall or ceiling mounted unit will operate until the desired ambient air temperature is achieved. Typically, using an air-to-air heat pump results in a greater output of heat for the energy used compared to traditional forms of heating.
